This is a list of different books on philosophy that could be used to flesh out the contents of a bookshelf. The books cover a variety of different philosophical subjects, from moral to political the scientific. They relate predominately Western philosophy, but there are a number of other texts included as well.

Many of the books were first published in the 20th century, but many others predate this period. They are listed with the book's title and author, and additional details, when known, such as date of first publication, original title and language and subject matter.
