Description

Publisher Blurb:

Characters may find daggers in treasure hoards or loot them from the bodies of those they have slain. These daggers may be magical in nature, or they may be ordinary, but they are rarely described in detail. This is a list of 100 different daggers, or knives, that are described in more detail. Some have definite oddities to their construction. They could be used to describe magical daggers, or simply make ordinary ones sound more interesting. Some may be a source of potential adventure hooks.

Here are some sample results:

A strange dagger that appears to have been made from hardened leather that has somehow been sharpened. The dagger does work, but is very susceptible to damp, including blood. If it is not quickly cleaned after it gets wet, the leather loses its rigidity and sharpness.

A thin-bladed, narrow-handled dagger, with the end of the blade splitting into two like an adder's tongue. The design is intended to be used by surprise, cutting the spine of the target.

A weak dagger, with a blade made from pot metal that barely bears an edge. It will be easy for this dagger's blade to snap if it is used in combat.

A yellowed, pyramidal tooth that appears to be from a dragon makes up the dagger's blade. The hilt is brass and has been carved into a draconic shape, with the guard being designed to resemble the open mouth of a dragon, from which the blade protrudes.

Both edges of this dagger's blade have a slightly scalloped pattern to them, giving them a wavy, yet still sharp, appearance. The dagger's hilt is made from steel to which various tiny bits of seashell have been affixed.
