Description

Publisher Blurb:

Many spellusers of one stripe or another have familiars, creatures that provide aid and unusual abilities. These creatures are often normal animals, although they may have some extra abilities. This supplement has a collection of 100 different things that could be used as familiars, or perhaps pets, that are definitely not normal.

The familiars in this supplement are often not creatures, or alive, and come in a wide range of types. They may provide extra abilities to the individual who owns them, as well as any that might normally be gained from a familiar. Some of the familiars are rather odd in nature, and may not be easily identifiable as to what they are.

Here are some sample results:

Mass of fanged mouths and talons in a lump of flesh a foot in diameter. Despite the creature's appearance, it has a cheerful and friendly demeanour.

Metal sphere, 6" in diameter, that hovers in the air. The metal is polished and shiny, but unidentifiable, and the sphere can speak normally and see, despite lacking any apparent sensory or communication orifices.

Meteorite several inches across that always feels cold. It has the ability to communicate telepathically with its owner and is a fragment of a much larger thing, one that knows a lot about dark magic.

Miniature dragon made from stone. The dragon is a real, pygmy dragon that has been petrified. It can communicate telepathically.

Miniature raptor, on three inches tall, that likes snuggling under its owner's clothing to keep warm. Despite its small size, the raptor can still give a nasty bite.
