100 History Books to Find on a Bookshelf

Game ID: GID0002411
Collection Status
Description

Publisher Blurb:

This is a list of 100 history books that players might find on a bookshelf. The books are mostly suitable for a modern setting, as many were first published in the 20th century. There are books with older initial publication dates, primarily those in Latin.

The books cover history from classical to modern, with countries and cultures from around the world, although there is an edge towards European and colonial history. These are genuine books, some by famous names. Whether or not the books have any in-game value other than decorative is up to the GameMaster.

The entries have the book's name, author, if known, and in some cases other details. They can be used to pad out a bookshelf with other genuine material, although it is unlikely that any one person would have books on the whole range of subject material.

Some examples are:

50. Liberalism and the Challenge of Fascism, Social Forces in England and France, (1815–1870) by J. Salwyn Schapiro
51. Lost City of the Incas: The Story of Machu Picchu and its Builders by Hiram Bingham
52. Mémoires pour servir à l'histoire ecclésiastique des six premiers siècles by LouisSébastien Le Nain de Tillemont (French, Translated, Memoirs of the ecclesiastical history of the first six centuries)
