In a good zombie game you want the characters to think that they are totally alone, they should think that the world has gone insane. Part of setting the stage for that in the game is a series of radio signals that fade in and out, letting the characters understand that the fabric of society has torn, they are truly on their own.
Give the characters an old radio receiver with a wonky switch, let the radio start receiving randomly, spewing out pieces of misinformation.
