The year is 1980 and the place is communist Poland. Shop shelves are empty more often than not, strikes are paralyzing the country, and it’s clear that the government is more and more incompetent. The regular shops and offices don’t exist to serve the customer, but the state. Therefore, in the world of perpetual shortages people take up common, everyday minor swindles and cheats.
