From Introduction:
Rumors of the growing evil of the gingerbread men should concern any adventurer or citizen of the city. These twisted, destructive creatures were baked in the ovens of the elemental plane of sweets and an invasion of gingerbread men could spell disaster for both the player character adventurers and all of the NPCs who call the city and surrounding lands home.
As with many rumors, there’s a good chance that the tales the PCs overhear in the taverns, inns, and shops of the city are no more than the hollow threats of parents who wish to scare their children into behaving. A mother tells her son that the gingerdead will eat his brains as if they were a gellatinous treat, the son shares the news with his friends, and the story grows from there until it is taken up by a drunkard or liar who spins a story that is sure to scare even the toughest of dungeoneers.
On the pages that follow, this latest entry in the fantasy RPG A Dozen… series brings the threat of the gingerbread men – as well as other creatures and threats from the elemental plane of sweets – to your campaign.
As with all entries in the series, I have constructed each rumor so that it fills a page. This makes it easy for you, the gamemaster, to print only the necessary page (or pages, if you’re constructing an evening of adventure by stitching together multiple rumors) and sit down at the table all set for adventure.
As a systemless series, none of the rumors include game statistics. It is your responsibility, as the gamemaster, to provide the stats appropriate to your chosen game system. I suggest cheating; use stats for an existing character or creature and change the name as necessary.
