Adventure Background
This mountain town has always had tales about the strange castle in the mountains. It takes quite a journey into the dark forest, climbing the steep and heavily rooted forest oor on the side of the mountain to reach it. No one really stumbled upon it on accident. There were stories for generations about shadows coming to life. Trees moving about. Goats who stood on two legs and spoke into your mind.
One of the families of this town is searching for adventurers in a hurry. The head of household claims that one of the sons of the family, a very young boy, has been kidnapped during the night by a red skinned man with horns bearing the twisted goat leg symbol of the church. The family isn’t sure why it is the child has been taken, but the town guard that went to investigate disappeared and has not returned.
