Publisher's blurb:
Come along outside, when Louise and her family return to their hometown to rediscover the memories they have lost of their life together.
“When dad and grandma died in the car crash mom, granddad and us three kids moved home to the town granddad grew up in, where everything would be well known and safe. But then why can’t any of us remember the time we lived there, or why we left it again? None of us knows. So now we have returned to rediscover the lost memories.”
A Journey Home is a strange, melancholic and almost dreamlike larp. Both players and characters don’t know what has happened, but will slowly “remember” it via fixed scenes. Between the scenes the players use the surroundings to recreate more memories via a simple mechanic. Therefore the story will be shaped by where you play.
It’s a quiet and lingering scenario, where you give yourself time to let the surroundings seep in and affect the experience you create together. A strange story that only slowly makes sense for the characters and players alike. Where uncertainty is part of the experience. A small and simple, but beautiful story about a family struck by tragedy, who despite differences and disagreements nurture deep love for one another.
Runs
This scenario is played outside, and can be played anywhere. As outside walks with proper distance are some of the first things that are allowed during these covid times, this scenario is a rare chance to meet up and roleplay physically without taking any unnecessary risks.
To play this scenario you only need four to five players and a game master, who have read the larp beforehand and found a suitable outside place to play. That can be a calm village, a quiet part of town, a forest or a park.
Everyone is welcome to run this larp in their area, but there might also be organised some open runs, depending on the situation at easter.
