At the borderlands of the Kingdom of Beneval, a missing hero appears as an apparition at the ruins of the Mage Tower called Shadowpoint. Adventurers of repute are approached by the Herald of King Chester of Beneval to investigate the matter, as the recovery of the lost hero would be celebrated throughout the Kingdom.
Traveling to the border town of Falsebreach, the Adventurers find that Shadowpoint is the subject of much rumor, superstition, and fear, and learn that the famous Golden Company’s final doomed mission was lost within the ruined tower. Crossing into the deserts beyond, the party soon finds themselves standing before the fallen tower, with a door warded by powerful magics barring their way . . .
