Description

“Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more?”—Cry God for King Harry, England and St. George” speech from Shakespeare’s Henry V, Act III, 1598.

The siege of Harfleur marked the beginning of King Henry V of England's invasion of France. The bitter and protracted siege nearly ended King Hal's ambitions, and the French garrison's prolonged resistance allowed the French King to mobilize a huge army. The two forces would meet at Agincourt in a decisive battle that shaped the future destinies of both countries.

Players use a standard deck of playing cards and six sided die to conduct the siege. Actions include bombardments, sallies and counter-mining by the French garrison, mining and assault actions for the British. Both sides must make the most of their activations to bring about an end to the siege, while also not running up a butcher's bill in the process. The game is very interactive, true to the history, plays in an hour of less and is easily learned and taught.
