Description
The office is a mess. The fine hardwood floor is littered with papers and the cabinets are open, one of which is tipped over. The smell of lacquer and leather-bound books lingers in the air. All around, books have been thrown from the bookcase. Various statues of monstrosities glare at you as you enter, seeming to say "Intruder..." but they remain unmoving.
In the center of the office is a sturdy, well-built desk, full of haphazardly placed ledgers. It looks as though someone has beaten you to the job, but did they find what they were looking for?
This is a single encounter that can be inserted into any adventure.
