This is a parody of the Jackson-Livingstone Fighting Fantasy books. You are a (im)perfect soldier who is known Lionia-wide. Your king Richard Lionsmell asks you to defeat the evil magician Darmol Purgos. Originally it was Lionsmell's task but he thought it would be easier to make others do the job instead of him while he could relax in the heated throne room.
You need a pencil, an eraser and two d6 dice for the game. Success isn't guaranteed as the author tries everything possible to make you die before you can do your job.
