One player acts as the master alchemist and guides the game for the apprentice alchemists. Players lay out 10 mystery elements and six tools. Using the tools, they take turn performing experiments and roll dice to see how well the experiment goes. If you correctly guess the mystery element, you capture it for that round. If you incorrectly guess, you are shamed and must sit out the next round. The winner is the player with who captures the most elements and therefore becomes the next master alchemist!
