Description

"Allmoge paintings" are traditional Swedish folk art characterized by intricate, hand-painted designs typically found on items such as bridal chests and other furniture.

In a game of Allmoge players take turns drafting pattern cards from a central supply to build their own pattern. The central supply is organized in alternating layers of open and hidden cards where the lower layers partially cover the higher layers. Drafting starts from the bottom and then moves up as the cards become uncovered.

Most of the symbols on the cards are placed over the edge, requiring 2 cards with similar symbols at the edges to create a complete symbol.

A round is over when all cards have been drafted, after each round the starting player changes to the left and when all players have been starting player the game is over.

At the end of the game each complete symbol in a player's pattern are worth 1 point and special icons like the Dala horse earns extra points per Dala horse in the player's pattern (1 -> 1 point 2 -> 4, 3 -> 9 and so on), birds (1 point per adjacent symbol) and blue/yellow flowers (1 point per blue flower in the pattern).

The player with the most points win.
