Description

Almighty: A Game of Gods & Ends Almighty is a competitive game of divine proportions! Play as one of many cosmic deities; act upon various Mortals in all the ways that ancient deities tend to do: create marvelous miracles, bring about horrible curses, generate mysterious omens, and make increasingly outrageous demands.

Why? To garner Belief amongst those puny Mortals so they will throw you glorious Festivals and send Offerings in your honor, of course! Then prepare for the doomsday event of a lifetime as you prove once and for all that YOU are the almightiest in the universe!

The winner of Almighty is the player with the most victory points (VP) at the end of the game. These come from:

'Glory' - in-game victory points, earned during Festivals
'Underworld' - awarded for how many levels you fill in with Souls (tokens for Mortals you Smite during the game)
'Relics' - tiles you earn throughout the game for various effects

The game centers around winning Festivals(you can think of this as Area Majority or Lane Battling) - each Land on the scroll board has its own value, and will hold its own Festivals for worthy gods. Performing Acts (playing an Act card from your hand to a Land) generates Belief for you in that Land -- have the most Belief in the Land when it is time for a Festival, and you'll win points!

On your turn, you take 2 actions. You can Create Mortals (add a Mortal card from a public supply onto a Land) and/or you can Perform an Act. After your turn, check to see if any Land will hold a Festival; this occurs when there are at least 5 Act cards on the Land. If so, the god that has garnered the most Belief in the Land will win victory points (called Glory) equal to the value of the Land - which is determined by the Cities, Huts, and Mortals present there.

And that's the basic loop! After a Festival, the Land grows (it gets another Hut), Acts and Mortals clear, and play continues until Doomsday arrives (which you'll need to discover details about on your own). After Doomsday, tally up your points and see who can be crowned ALMIGHTY!
