Description

Entrepreneurial tycoons in the year 3113 spend scant portions of their vast fortunes hiring unscrupulous scientists to bioengineer ferocious creatures to compete on a remote island in "Alpha", the world’s most brutal blood sport not banned by the International Broadcasting Memorandum. In this two-player hidden movement deck-building hand management game, each player will assume the actions of one dangerous predator that exists to achieve one objective: reign as the Alpha.

How do they do this? Players will choose seven action cards, each of which represents the passage of one hour of time, from their available deck to play that round. Players then take actions simultaneously, resolve them, and repeat the process until each player has one card remaining (*), which gets upgraded based on the player's current location on the board.

Player's creatures can Move around the map, Hunt the piddling local wildlife to avoid Howl penalties, and Track their opponent to ascertain their location. Players must also navigate un-upgradable Sleep and Scat actions that make it harder for them to stay undetected. Players who perform the final available action, Sneak Attack!, lay it all on the line. They either win the game, or let their opponent know exactly where to find them.

(*) Unless their opponent has located them, in which case, game over. Chin up...they've got that creature's DNA sequencing on file somewhere...
