Description

Alphabet Mix is a word game for English- or French-speaking children. It has 78 letter cards and 2 wild cards, the cards being more like cardboard tiles, 2" x 2". It is a variant of the traditional game Memory.

The 80 cards are laid out in a 8x10 grid face down. The first player states a word of 3+ letters. Then each player in turn reveals two cards, and if either of both of them spell the next letters of the stated word, they add them to the word and score their point values; otherwise they replace unused tiles face down. The word must be spelled in order. The player who finishes the current word states another word, and play continues spelling the new word. Once 5 words have been spelled, all the cards are reshuffled and re-dealt.

The player who achieves an agreed-on total -- 50 is recommended for beginners -- wins the game.
