Description

Information recovered from the underground fighting arena beneath The Rusty Nail tavern (in Chapter 3) has led to two major conclusions. First, the Crimson Covenant, a devil-worshipping cult led by a tiefling man named Ralvir, has been positively associated with the ongoing attacks on Moonlight Bay by the barded devil Zilor. Second, Ralvir has recently departed for “business” in the nearby city of Frosthom.

That same intelligence suggests that Ralvir’s return to Moonlight Bay is now imminent. Razos Maz, the guild leader of The Thieves of Moonlight Bay, and Linyas Keenspell, the guild’s Master of Novices, have called in the player characters for another briefing. The gist is simple: if Ralvir and his cult are assisting in the attacks on the city, he must be eliminated by any means necessary.

However, the mission Razos and Linyas task their newest thieves with is anything but. Ralvir was seen traveling with guards and cultists as he left Moonlight Bay. Assassinating him will be a trial like they have never faced before.

This adventure is sized for a party of four level 5 characters of any class, but can be easily adapted for Levels 4-6. It's also designed to be run over a lunch hour or other short length of time, though it can be easily extended to fit into a normal evening's D&D session.
