ANOTHER DEAD END!
An A-Maze-ing Adventure for Puzzling Questgoers
Scaled for 5 Players, Level 3-5
‘Another Dead End’ is a tried-and-true comedy-esque oneshot that went so well on its test runs that it ended up running for twice as long, just because the players enjoyed it and wanted more. Naturally, I had great fun with it.
While there are suggested encounters and a test map attached within the document, you can also generate your own map or design one with the blank grid provided. The world is your oyster!
That being said, the gimmick of this quest is that you will be handing your players a blank grid and leaving it up to them to record the maze with your descriptions of the area around them.
Wisdom Checks (with Cartographer’s Tools proficiency providing Advantage) can be used if they mess up to get hints, but the map-making is part of the fun. They’re incentivised to stay focused on where they’re going without getting lost, and it’s an interactive element that isn’t often utilised in oneshots. You can easily print off the grid for in-person use, or let someone use an art program for it if you’re staying online.
