Apparition is the world’s first board game exclusively focused on the Blessed Virgin Mary. The game features three card categories: Apparitions (gold ringed), Rosary themes (silver ringed), and Saints (red ringed).
How to Play: On their turn, players draw all of the gold, silver or red-ringed cards from the seven cards shown face-up in the revealed card pile. They use these cards to build matches to claim any of the 10 apparitions, 5 Rosary themes or Saints. When achieving a match, players take the scoring token from the game board that represents that card subject (e.g, Our Lady of Lourdes token). Everyone's cards are displayed face up for all to see during the game, which allows players on their turn to determine whether to take cards to help themselves or potentially block others. The game ends when the draw deck and revealed card pile are exhausted.
The game's educational value is found in QR codes on all 168 cards that provide additional information about each card topic. Players can read the stories behind more than two dozen apparitions, 18 saints who were profoundly impacted by Our Lady, as well as learn the history and meaning behind Mary's most ancient names, Marian epithets and invocations, and Mary's 10 Evangelical Virtues.
For ages 8+. Simplified instructions provide rule adjustments for younger players. Players don't need to know anything about the Blessed Virgin Mary or Catholicism to play and enjoy this game.
