From the Introduction

Down a Victorian London side street is the Archive, an eldritch collection of written knowledge. One can find almost any information there if one looks long enough.

However, it might be a very long look, and certainly a dangerous one. The Archive’s shifting maze-like passages and powerful Guardians deter most from entering.

That’s where you come in. As a Librarian, you’ll be hired to find and retrieve information for your employer. Along the way you’ll have to navigate the Archive, evade or defeat the Guardians, and eventually make your way back with the information you seek.

With any luck, you’ll manage it without getting any of your team killed along the way.
