This guide includes:
Argynvost the Reanimated. As written in Curse of Strahd, Argynvost and the revenants can only be put to rest by lugging his 250-pound skull from Castle Ravenloft. The logistics of this task ensure that it won't happen during the campaign, but after Strahd has been slain. The Companion recommends reanimating Argynvost in Castle Ravenloft; defeating the skeletal dragon causes a gemlike heart of light to fall out from the corpse. This heart serves as Argynvost's skull. However, Strahd sends a re-raised, winged Argynvost to attack the adventurers as they dare bring his heart back to the manor.
In the Court of Horngaard. The Companion focuses heavily on the chapter's characters, inventing a four-act storyline (replete with narration text and encounters) in which the adventurers incur the wrath of Vladimir Horngaard. As they learn, his mercy proves short-lived and his vengeance reaches far beyond the walls of Argynvostholt.
