Description
The Atari 800 was one of the first two (along with the 400) systems in the Atari 8-bit family of home computers. Its name refers to its planned 8KB of system memory versus the 400's 4KB. However both systems eventually sold with more memory, with the 800 eventually topping out at 48KB.
The Atari 800 supported both its own cartridge format and the more popular Atari 400 cartridge format.
