User Summary
Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Burning Earth is an action adventure title for the Wii, Playstation 2, and Xbox 360. The game follows after the events in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and includes a number of stories that appear in the second season of the television show.
One new feature is the ability to play two-player cooperative, and for either player to control Aang, Katara, Sokka, and a few other characters. Gameplay is similar to that of the first game. Players travel through the levels, and when enemies are encountered a range of moves can be used to dispatch them. As players defeat more baddies, they gain experience that allows them to improve their fighting skills.
Some levels have simple puzzles that require the cooperation of both characters to complete. If a player is adventuring alone, they are able to freely switch between the two characters throughout the stages. Also new to the series are the flying stages where players guide Appa through a hazard zone using an over-the-shoulder perspective. The Wii version makes use of the motion controls to fight.
There are also games by the same name for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS. These titles share some aspects with this adventure, but are different games.
