Bestial Mimicry: The Tomes of Melchior XII

Description

This spellbook transforms iconic monster abilities into a variety of spells for every class. Some are nearly 1 to 1 with their inspiration, such as icy gaze giving you the chilling look of a yeti or undeath ward the zombie’s resistance to death. In the middle are abilities adjusted to encompass multiple similar abilities, such as chromatic dragon’s breath, or take the way a monster acts into a singular action, such as great worm’s burrow. On the other end are spells such as brilliant hex and vampiric curse, which instead lets you inflict a monster’s weakness on another foe!

Since there are so many iconic monsters, there isn’t a particular damage type or school of magic focused on, though the transmutation and evocation schools are slightly more common than the rest. The same can be said for function. This book has a good spread of support, defense, and damaging spells, with a smaller amount of healing and crowd control spells. Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards benefit the most from this spellbook, followed by druids.
