Description

Black Sands is a Fantasy themed Tactical Skirmish Game. Players each control a class based hero, and the game comes with 4 prearranged and unique class decks though a draft mode is also available.

Gameplay:
The game is played on a modular hex grid map, and players use their deck of cards as their hero's abilities. Cards are used to defend your hero or to attack others, as well as special abilities.

The goal of the Black Sands is to be the last player or team left standing. It can be played as a free-for-all of 2-4 players, or as two teams of 2 players. Two games used together could expand the maximum amount of players up to 8, with teams allowed in any even combination (I.E. pairs, or 4v4).

Using a pool of "energy," each round players take turns maneuvering their characters. The character pieces have hexagonal bases labeled with the characters Front, Left, and Right sides. Cards can have active effects and/or prepared effects. Players can play active effects from their hand on their turn. An example of an active effect would be "The next attack you make this turn gets +2 damage." To use a card's prepared effect, a player places the card face down in one of three piles marked for their character's Front, Left, and Right sides. Prepared cards are used as interrupts for opponents actions, and will take place before the completion of the action they are responding to. A prepared effect might read something like "Block the next attack against the prepared side."
