Blaster and Amethyst is a simple top down shooting game. There are seven gems in each stage, and the player must collect all of them to gain access to the next room. A number of enemies will shoot at the player, and if they hit, the player will be thrown backwards. If the player falls off the edge of the stage, they will lose a life.
The player has a blaster gun that they use to defeat enemies and propel around the stage.
