User summary

Boing was written by Bill Wilkinson and published in the Insight: Atari column in Compute!, Issues 27, 28, and 29, during August - October, 1982.

The game was intended as a simple tutorial on computer programming. The initial column (August) presented BASIC graphic routines for moving pixels and interfacing with computer input. The secondary column (September) converted the foundations into a (very simple) BASIC game similar to "Pong". The third column (October) converted the BASIC source code into machine language.
