Bosconian 87 is a budget game adaptation of Bosconian, an arcade shoot'em up by Namco.

The game is a top-down shooter, the player controls a ship that can travel in 8 directions and fire both forward and backward. There are many enemy ships (as well as mines and asteroids) but the goal of each level is to destroy all the space stations (hexagonal structures protected by six gun batteries). The game display includes a fuel gauge and a scanner indicating the position of the player's objectives. The player can pick up power-up to gain extra fuel or better weapons.
