Break-A-Leg is a pick and pass card drafting game for 2-5 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Players take on the role of a theatrical producer hiring the best cast, creative, and crew, while simultaneously foiling the plans of the opposing producers.
During each of three recruitment sessions (rounds), players collect cards representing team members from the four theatrical production team areas: Actors, Designers, Run Crew, and Front of House. Players draft additional Directors, Specialists, and Apprentices to augment their production.The ensemble is assembled into teams, then scored, and players are given a representative for each team they have formed. Bonuses reward multi-round planning, and on the fly strategy adjustment. At the end of the game, “Ghost Light” cards collected throughout the rounds score bonuses, and players are rewarded if they have earned a representative from all four teams.
Break-A-Leg is a lightweight game that is easy to learn, yet offers a plethora of options for experienced players, such as draft signaling, counter-picking, multi-round planning, and draft-pick priority.
