Brücken-Spiel

Game ID: GID0054238
Collection Status
Description

The corner-pillars are covered with 2 figures of the same color. The figures must travel to the opposite corner-pillar and must take the way over all the four bridges and through a custom-house. The players move by turns. The adversary orders how many spaces the other is obliged to move; he only has the choice to order four, five or seven spaces. For instance white says to blue: "move four spaces!"

Movement is restricted by the following rules;

Who comes to a red space at the end of the ordered movement is obliged to go back one space.
Who comes to a white space in the middle of a bridge is obliged to go back three spaces.
He who comes to one white square in the middle of the custom-house is obliged to return six squares.
Who arrives at a red square or on a bridge in going back has the right to stop there, only in the custom-house no figure has the right to stop, it must go back to one square in front of the custom-barrier.
Who is at the move, has the choice, which of his 2 figures he likes to move.
If a figure would get on a space, occupied by a figure of another color, it has the right to jump over the adversary or more, if the spaces behind them are free.

The players try to make their adversary's move slowly. This happens if one directs his adversary to a space from which he is obliged to move back a number of spaces.
The winner is the first player who has his 2 figures at the opposite pillar.
