The Nature Expansion adds another layer to game play. During set up players will pick one of four animals: Otter, Trout, Elk or Beaver. One of these animals will start on a random space. Next, the Bear and eagle will be placed on a random space as well. Players will also place a weather icon above a random column.
Adding in different animals and weather elements will increase the depth of the game. Animals have special powers that can help or hinder your ability to complete achievements in the game. While you can not play with all the animals at the same time, you will choose a set of animals for each game when you play this is delightful expansion. Animals and weather will move through the wilderness throughout the game. This will give a more realistic feeling of camping out and completing your achievement patches!
