Cat-Tastic plays on a roll-and-move board with spaces along the perimeter (picture monopoly). The various spaces either cause you to gain or lose money, or draw a card with an event, or adopt a cat to gain a heart. The cards generally require you to pay money to a specific business (or to the bank if the business is not owned), with some of the cards rewarding a heart afterwards.
At the start of the game, you choose a cat care business to own (two businesses in a 2 player game), like vet, or groomer. The business will interact with some of the event cards, and may also have a cost to maintain. You may also purchase additional businesses during the game.
As long as you don't go bankrupt, you go around the board and collect hearts until someone wins by collecting 6 hearts.
