Cattle Drover

Game ID: GID0062830
Collection Status
Description

"Cattle Drovers are individuals skilled in herding livestock across vast stretches of wilderness–a feat that could either take 2-weeks or well over 4-months. These folk drive cattle, sheep, or other pack-animals over great distances to grazing lands, markets, or trade hubs. Enduring harsh weather, treacherous terrain, and the ever-present threat of predators, drovers are experts at managing animals and navigating the tough frontier.

Their job is either spent on foot or horseback, guiding herds across rivers, through forests, and over plains. They’re resourceful and self-reliant, capable of handling emergencies such as stampedes, illness, or the once-in-a-while skirmish with raiders. While often solitary, drovers may form strong bonds with fellow herders, traveling in small groups to share the burden of long journeys.

Whether driving herds for coin, family tradition, or personal freedom, drovers have an intimate connection with the land and its creatures."
