The Cave of the Mericful Moon is a dungeon diving one-shot adventure, with the party racing a group of bandits to retrieve a magical dwarven relic from a long-forgotten cave. Along the way, the party will encounter snakes, some traveling difficulties, a few traps/puzzles, and and the relic's ancient defender. The plot is a homage to the classic 80's archelogy-action movie (but don't tell the players that!)
The module provides suggestions on tweaking it to fit various table styles, and is designed to be friendly to new players. It is fail-forward and the rival party racing for the relic provides natural time pressure. The adventure is for a level 5 party and can be used as a standalone one-shot or a side quest in an ongoing campaign. Maps of 6 locations plus the region are included.
