In this issue, the Fabulous Foxbat working for DEMON, is foiled in his attempt to steal a powerful artifact. Over the course of the issue the eponymous Champions assemble. This is complicated by the fact that Giant, the team's strongman, has to be dragged out of semi-retirement. The plot ends on a cliffhanger with DEMON attempting to steal the artifact from Champions in a direct assault on their base.
