From publisher blurb:
Chaos Effects: Godlike is a superheroic adventure campaign released for a general Super-Powered by M&M Event Book supplement introducing a major story event that greatly enhances a character’s super-abilities, with sobering consequences.
The Thunderbird is an exiled member of an ancient, highly evolved, race of cosmic gods – the Monolith. These gods had long evolved beyond the need for mortal worshippers and, indeed, as a result had outlived the mortal species whose belief shaped the Monolith’s existence. While adult Monolith tended to ignore the mortals that populated the galaxy – instead dwelling in their own distant reaches of the cosmos – their children did on occasion demonstrate a curiosity about mortal life. And, much as human children may get curious about the ants in their garden – poking them with a stick or subjecting them to various kinds of interference – so too do the infantile Monolith youth meddle in the affairs of mortals.
The adult Monolith do not stop this kind of meddling. In fact, they encourage it – believing that it is an important part of a youngster’s transition to adulthood. This is because in times past, the mortal worshippers of the Monolith ascribed stories to the actions and deeds of the gods – telling the gods themselves what kind of deity they were. But without worshippers, discovery of a god’s divine style and type of deity they are has become a matter of personal interaction with the wider galaxy. In this way, the children of the Monolith discover what type of god they truly are by interfering in the affairs of less powerful and more finite beings. If you are looking to build an epic-level adventure in the Super-Powered by M&M and superhero genre, then this is the PDF for you.
