The Space Adventure (コブラII: 伝説の男, Cobra II: Densetsu no Otoko), also known as The Space Adventure - Cobra, The Legendary Bandit on the North American game disc label, is an adventure game developed and published by Hudson Soft that was first released for the PC Engine CD-ROM² System in 1991 in Japan before seeing an English localization for the Sega/Mega CD in 1995 in North America and Europe. In 2008, the Japanese version was converted into a mobile app game for NTT DoCoMo FOMA series cellphones.
The game is based on the manga and anime series Cobra by Buichi Terasawa. It is the sequel to a Japan-exclusive game titled Cobra: Kokuryuuou no Densetsu released for the PC Engine CD in 1989. This game, much like its predecessor, plays similar to the Konami game Snatcher by using a menu-driven point-and-click interface. The game features artwork based directly on that of the manga source material along with some basic animation as well as full voice acting. The ESRB gave this title a Mature rating, making it the first anime licensed game to be included in this category. Considering the game occasionally features violence, alcohol and tobacco use, plenty of "cheesecake" and some brief nudity, the rating is more than justified.
With the Sega Saturn being released the same year as this game, it received a very small print run resulting in the title fetching high prices on the collector market.
