Description

From publisher blurb:

The Arbazan people were early Federation members. But what happens when a religious faction disagrees with the partnership and seeks to break ties with the Arbazan government? “Conflict of Values” explores how one splinter group can undermine and threaten peace.

With the away team in a deadly situation they cannot easily escape from, it falls to the crew aboard ship to investigate the cause and find a solution. However, the perpetrators are no friends of the Federation, and are endangering both the away team and a lasting peace.

The crew is on a tactical mission to secure and remove a bilitrium deposit from an uninhabited Class-H moon claimed by the Arbazan government. The away team is bombarded by dangerous beta radiation that makes transport off the world’s harsh surface impossible, forcing them to find cover. Meanwhile, crew aboard the player characters’ ship must deal with the Arbazan ambassador and find a solution to the dangerous radiation bombardment in order to save the away team.

When the artificial nature of the threat is revealed, the player characters must attempt to negotiate a peace between rival factions or face conflict with a splinter group intent on undermining the peace of the Federation. Can the crew find a solution that appeals to everyone, or will something need to be sacrificed to prevent an interstellar incident?

Although this is a standalone adventure, a bonus one-page mission brief provides inspiration for continuing the mission.

This 21-page PDF adventure for the first edition Star Trek Adventures roleplaying game is written by Michael Dismuke, and is easily set in the Enterprise or The Next Generation eras, with the player characters being the crew of a Federation vessel. This adventure also contains advice on adaptation for use in other Star Trek time periods.
