Although perhaps even that is an overly-generous description, as to call an ooze a “loathsome creature” is to do a disservice to other loathsome creatures like sewer rats and tapeworms. In fact, an ooze is much less a creature than it is a mass, an amorphous blob of material incapable of thought, feeling, or even the simplest desire beyond a compulsion to consume. The ooze does not exist for any reason, and yet it does exist. It exists, it survives, and sometimes even thrives, despite its significant shortcomings.
Now consider yourself the ooze, deprived of all but the most rudimentary of senses, driven only by the mindless need to consume. Now go forth and consume.
