Crazy Shapes is a tabletop card game I designed and produced for my preschool son whom I was told suffered autism and ADHD.
It is a card discarding game wherein players drop matching sets of shapes or colors; victor being whomever empties their hand first.
With quick game cycles typically ~5 to 15 minutes max players have a similar level of agency as one has in Poker and incidentally, Crazy Shapes includes a ruleset for bluffing and calling bluffs.
There are no direct offensives, no attacks on one another's cards or actions to stymie other players, thus avoiding grief competition.
The game is a hit with adult crowds in adult environments despite the theme, as it is a lightly engaging activity and when playing with children, adults don't have to let the child win or take it easy meaning children appreciate an unironic victory or loss.
