In a themed Anglo-French deck, Heroes (kings of all suits) wield Spears (spades) to battle Monsters (clubs) to gain Treasure (diamonds) and attract the most Followers (hearts). Players draw up to five cards on their turn, adding one Follower to their troop, and playing any Monsters drawn in front of them or in front of other players. Then they attack the Monsters by playing Spears: if these total equal or more than the value of the monster, they can place a Treasure card from their hand to their horde. If the monster is still alive, it counterattacks by taking its remaining point value in Followers or cards still in hand to the discard pile.
When the draw pile is depleted, the Hero with the highest point value in Followers and Treasures wins.
