Ahtorekei (Otter). Boisterous and hard working, the ahtorekei are always looking for the next adventure or next meal. Friendly and warm to their compatriots, they are slow to trust, but an ahtor friend made is one for life.
Angora (Angora Rabbit). Quiet and humble, the angora are kindly. Hardworking and industrious in most things, the angora can be focused and fast if need be. They make close friends and remember slights for decades.
Badgerfolk. Reserved and often thought to be too quiet, in truth the badgerfolk are analytical and patient. Kindly and gregarious once befriended, their ways are very noble and sometimes hot-headed.
Bat. Bats love to tack debts, some keeping little black books but most have an irrefutable index memorized. These are confirmed by others in the know, and any inconsistency may become the raging debate of the entire community until it is resolved. Bats are loud, outspoken arguers whose word is tantamount and whose reputations are literally their livelihood.
Fox. To be a fox is to live life fully, but also to always be wary of those around you, as foxes are slow to trust others, and even slower to open up.
Grounder (Groundhog). Grounders are dedicated to the philosophy of their burrow homes, believing that everyone has a role in service to the community, making them natural enemies of monarchies and other traditional government.
Harefolk. Harefolk are loud, adventurous, sometimes pompous, and vocal competitors. Always down for a friendly competition, willing to help out a friend at the drop of a hat.
Kissa (Various Catfolk). Varies from clan to clan, the kissa can be friendly and in favor of companionship to loner types. Hardy and tough and ingenious. Some believe that the kissa are the original people from whom padahon descended from.
Kosten (Weasel). Energetic, artistic, and expressive, the kosten are practical but also optimistic. They have a great love of life and great respect for death.
Momentin (Stoat). Often seen as silent, sullen, mysterious, the momentin talk in prophecy and riddles. They have a rather gallows sense of humor, but are also deeply artistic and supernaturally attuned.
Mosqua (Muskrat). Practical, cordial, respectful, industrious: the creed that all mosqua live by. Always looking at everything with a carpenter’s eye, sparking many rivalries with the timberfolk.
Munkle (Chipmunk). Deeply spiritual and gnostic, similar to the momentin, the munkle show strong love of life and respect of death. On top of that, they love cooking and exploring philosophy.
Quillfolk (Porcupine). Highly territorial and protective of their homeland, the quillfolk are isolationist loners that rarely descend from the trees they dwell in for most of their lives.
Rat. Spending most of their lives on the high seas mixed in with pirate crews, rats are suspicious and always on the alert. There is nothing they love more than the thrill of a deal or of a dagger fight.
Scuiree (Squirrel). The scuiree are the vestiges of a once mighty empire, but today enjoy a life of wandering and exploring, the squirrel diaspora far and wide.
Seganku (Skunk). Dedicated to sharing stories and goods, the seganku are master caravaners and merchants who travel the world over to offer their wares and a cup of tea to any who would like one.
Temran (Marten). Wild and free, the temran are a powerful and wily people, where feats of strength and warrior’s skill is held in high regard amongst the community.
Timberfolk (Beaver). Loved for their feats of engineering and reviled for their ability to destroy precious landscapes overnight, the timberfolk are captains of industry and climate change.
Topsian (Mouse). Keepers of comedy and happiness, the mice of Big Tops are lovers of anything that creates art, and will do anything they can to bring it to everyone else.
Tuskborn (Boar). Titans of the Old Ways, the tuskborn were once hunted into hiding by the Wolf Empire, but since its fall, they have slowly returned.
Vesh’mooli (Platypus). Never quite knowing where they fit in amongst their fellow critterfolk, the vesh’mooli have done what they can to make something of a name for themselves.
Volefolk. Good-natured and helpful attitude leads to them sharing their knowledge with any who ask. They enjoy the study and use of herbs, leaves, roots and tea.
