Gameplay Overview:
Objective: The primary goal of Crowns & Consequences is to be the first team to empty your hand of cards, securing the crown and avoiding the consequences.
On Your Turn:
Play a Card Combination: The starting player will play a combination of cards from their hand—this can be singles, pairs, triples, or sequences. Play continues with players going around playing higher cards of the same combination. You can choose to pass or continue to play a higher combination. The player with the highest combination when everyone else passes takes control.
Take Control: If you win control, you get to lay a new combination from your hand of your choosing. Play then continues like previously. Strategic play is essential—each card combination played empties your hand and gets you closer to victory.
Use Action Cards: Beware the Action Cards! These special cards have the power to disrupt your opponents’ strategies, allowing you to discard cards, or give additional cards to your opponent. Be careful these can completely shake up the game dynamics.
Unleash Booms: Playing four of a kind activates a Boom, Booms can be played on any combo, and become the highest combo on the table. Only a higher boom can beat it. These are game-changing events that can turn the tide in your favor or throw everyone into chaos. Timing is everything with Booms, as they can be the key to your victory.
Endgame: The game ends when one team successfully empties their hand. The victorious team claims the crown, while the losing team faces the dreaded Consequence Cards. These cards challenge the losing team with hilarious and sometimes embarrassing tasks, ensuring that no one escapes the game without a memorable experience.
Winning: To win in Crowns & Consequences, you must outplay your opponents, make the best use of your cards, and navigate the ever-present threat of Booms and Action Cards.
