Limited by the borders of the sea on all sides, Cyaervald has not grown in terms of land mass. Rather, they have spread their influence through the use of the Iron Fleet’s extensive manpower and naval vessels. The collaboration between the Fleet and the Merchant’s Guild that manages much of the business on the island has reaped rewards in dividends. Not only has the island nation earned a reputation as the foremost producer of weapons and armaments in Gwydion, its population has earned great respect amongst their fellows as hardy, determined people that hold true to their word. As one might expect, life in Cyaervald revolves primarily around the sea and the bounty it brings. In addition to shipwrights and armorers, Cyaervald serves as a home to some of the finest fishermen, carpenters, and blacksmiths Gwydion has to offer. While not ones to put themselves on pedestals, Cyaervalders proudly hold themselves to the utmost professional standards. To them, hard work and grit are what have granted their communities their prosperity.
However, this good fortune has come into some jeopardy, as the seemingly endless supply of undead ships beneath the waves has grown more and more scarce. This, combined with the limited resources on the island itself, has created something of a dilemma for the Fleet and the Guild alike. Without the raw materials culled from the Righadharach’s shipwrecks, the production of weapons, armor and ships has slowed – not quite to a trickle, but enough that Cyaervald’s leaders have called an unprecedented emergency meeting to address it. While some believe it’s imperative to go on the offensive and retrieve materials the hard way, others feel it wiser to pursue less dangerous courses of action, like negotiations with the mainland or deep-sea dredging. Whatever the solution, it must come soon, or else Cyaervald and all of Gwydion could lose the tenuous edge they have against the Righadharach’s forces.

Forged from the very helmet of Hrath himself, Cyaervald presents a gritty and rough setting for Wanderers and Alders to dive into. On the front lines of the attacks by that ancient undead enemy, the rugged people of Cyaervald are scrappy and hardworking, keeping the Iron Fleet alive as one of the first lines of defense for greater Gwydion.
With six new careers and the exciting counties to explore, there is a ton to do in Cyaervald, which in many ways acts as a perfect jumping off point for a group of Wanderers looking to start small before joining the big leagues.
