From publisher blurb"
'"It started with the banks, if it don't start with an explosion it's always the banks. Everyone lost their money, people panicked, governments tried to step in, but they lost their money too when the financial rug was ripped out from under us. It was the Corporate Biggies who "saved" us. Turns out they got together with each other and planned for something like this, smells fishy to me, but you can't argue with the results. What results, I hear ya ask?
Today the average Cog makes enough money to keep a home over their head, food on the table, and the energy turned on. Even the homeless wanderers can afford to have access to the Net and a few chips in their head, should they want it. Staying alive though, that ain't livin and for those lookin for a bit more excitement in their lives? Well, for that the Corporations began the Rat Bolt.
The Rat Bolt is a race, of a sort, a race to see who survives, who dies, and who becomes famous. The Corporations put out postings, legally sanctioned hits, heists, and black bag jobs for the Ratters (that's us) to take on and run. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and you my friend? You just landed yourself smack in the Race. So buckle up, smile at the Ratter-Catcher when they put up the postings and enjoy the ride. It’s Rat Bolt time."
