This issue of the Codex presents Daishō: an integrated interceptor built for speed and offensive power. This vessel consists of two ships that can operate together or independently:
Daitō : the base cruiser with cabins for seven crew, and bunks for ten additional personnel, marines, or passengers. Armed with missiles, railguns, and turrets, this ship is formidable in combat. A med bay, cryo pods, and brig round out the amenities.
Shōtō : a sleek strike craft. Fast and also well armed, she is designed to carry a crew of two to four.
Together and apart, these ships are able to take on a wide variety of missions. They could be the perfect home for heroes, mercenaries, soldiers, or pirates.
The Daishō design is the next offering from Neorion Shipyards of Syros II. Building upon the lessons learned from the Chimaerus integrated transport, it presents a two-part combat-focused interceptor for military or high-end security use. Of course, any mercenary or entrepreneur with the credit and the need is welcome as well. It's also very possible to use just one ship or the other. Each is fully capable on its own.
The Daishō package contains several highly detailed PDF files and images:
• Main Book
- 21 page PDF file detailing the interior areas of Chimaerus (Leaena, Krios, & Drakon).
- Contains 3D rendered scenes as well as orthographic views.
- Background, art, and text are on different layers for custom display and printing.
• Map Pages
- 25 page PDF file containing complete interior maps at 1 inch = 5 ft scale.
- Divided into pages for easy printing in full color or printer-friendly black and white.
- Selectable layers include a 1-inch grid, black & white version, and optional cargo.
• Uncut Map Images
- Two layered PDF files containing large, uncut images of the deckplans.
- Includes 37x49 and 20x29 inch images of the ships.
- Text-free jpeg images, grid-aligned, on a dark background are provided for VTT use.
• Starfinder Statistics
- Starfinder stat sheets are provided to cover all three configurations :
- Daitō: tier 11 using the medium transport frame
- Shōtō: tier 6 using the medium explorer frame
- Daishō: tier 12 using a custom "corvette" frame (basically a medium destroyer)
