Dale of Merchants Collection introduced a few card effects that can create problems when used in combination with certain cards from the first two games in the series as well as the Systematic Eurasian Beavers mini-expansion.
To address this, the publisher created this update pack which includes updated versions of those cards to replace the old ones.
New printings will include these updated cards instead of the old versions.
Game versions affected
Any Dale of Merchants games printed in 2019 or later will include the updated cards by default. Games older than that have the original cards and their version numbers are listed below. You can find the version number of your game at the back of the game box near the bar code (or on the card with the bar code in case of the Beaver expansion).
Dale of Merchants versions affected: SWG150101, SWG160102, SWG170103
Dale of Merchants 2 versions affected: SWG160201, SWG170202
Systematic Eurasian Beavers mini expansion version affected: SWG160301
If you own one or more games with the old versions of the cards, you can order the update pack from the publisher's online store. The pack itself is free so you can purchase it by paying only for the shipping. Alternatively, you can add the pack to your order while you purchase something else. Please note that while the update pack is always beneficial, it isn’t absolutely needed unless you plan to combine your game with Dale of Merchants Collection.

Patch notes - Why the cards were changed
New term, opponent
All instances of “other players” were replaced with “opponents” to streamline team rules. Now there are no exceptions on how the card texts should be read no matter if you’re playing with the team rules or not.
Affected cards:
Lucky Ocelots 5 – Blindfold
Hoarding Flying Squirrels 4 – Acorn
Intimidating Dwarf Crocodiles 1 – Little Villain
Intimidating Dwarf Crocodiles 2 – Scary Gunfight
Intimidating Dwarf Crocodiles 5 – Nasty Threat
Intimidating Dwarf Crocodiles 5 – Lost Shipments
Effects affecting all junk
Some cards had effects affecting “all junk cards” from various places. Those were restricted to 3 because of the Swindling Black-headed Gulls in the Dale of Merchants Collection. As Gulls gift junk to other players, the maximum number of junk those effects could have affected was larger than desired. The effects remain mostly the same without Gulls.
Affected cards:
Dealing Giant Pandas 3 – Essential Purchase
Diligent Pale-throated Sloths 3 – Housecleaning
Less discarding with 4 players
Nuisance (Raccoons 2) was a bit too disruptive with 4 players when it discarded a card from all opponents. Now it discards only from up to 2 other players. You can still target two leading players so the function of the cards remains mainly unchanged while slowing the game down a bit less.
Affected cards:
Thieving Northern Raccoons 2 – Nuisance
Text clarity
As there are new card types in Dale of Merchants Collection, some cards needed a bit of updating to make them work great with those. Also, Practice (Beavers 5) had an error in the old text where you could permanently remove cards from an opponent’s stall with an Acorn which was never intended.
Affected cards:
Hoarding Flying Squirrels 3 – Nostalgic Item
Observant Snowy Owls 5 – Balancing
Systematic Eurasian Beavers 5 – Practice
