From publisher blurb:

What is DayLITE: Noir?

If you have picked up this game, then either you know about the noir genre, or you are new to it and are interested in learning more. Noir has its first twinkling of origins with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories, but most know it from the arrival of such films like Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon and pulp comics like Doc Savage or The Shadow in the 1930s and 40s. Over time, the noir genre has grown and split into several different subgenres, all of which can spell a very different kind of game and story.

Classic Noir. Classic Noir sets us in a foggy city where gangsters and debutants rule the streets and public opinion. Jazz music, cigarette smoke, and the rumble of hot rods and motorcycles fill the air as grizzled cops work the beat.

Neon Noir. Whether in the far future or the near future or maybe even the past, gumshoes explore the streets solving cases under the glow of a thousand neon signs advertising all forms of debauchery. Synth music and sleek cars glow in the shimmer of pink and green.

Occult Noir. Regardless of time, the murmur of occult chants and rumors of evil spirits fills dark rooms as a way to deflect blame. Here, detectives must explore the dark side of mortality, the ancient evil that waits, seething, in all beings.

Eldritch Noir. Here, darkness really does leak from beyond, as monsters from nightmares and ancient times long before begin to seed their shadowy tendrils into the minds and souls of others. Gumshoes must grapple with the horror.

Get Moving, Champ!

Pick from one of three Detective Paths: Socialite, Scholar, or Brawler - and choose your subtype to craft your gumshoe!

Meet the many denizens of the shadowy city you call home, gas up your motorcycle or hot rod, fight mob goons, solve mysteries and get out there into the streets!
